A fresh trend may be developing in Las Vegas that appears to be designed for the countless visitors who arrive in Sin City annually to try their fortune.
Paris Las Vegas has recently introduced a new feature on its online booking platform enabling guests to let chance determine their room type. Known as the “Luck of the Draw,” this rate option enables overnight guests to obtain the top rate for the Strip property by letting fate decide the room assignment.
"Feeling lucky?” the option asks. “Secure our best rates by leaving the selection of your room type to chance. Room assignments will vary by number of beds, view, size, and other amenities. Preferences are left to chance and cannot be guaranteed. Accommodations are based upon availability and are subject to change.”
For a stay of three nights from Sept. 4-7, the "Luck of the Draw" choice offers a nightly rate of $233, which includes the $55 resort fee per night, not including taxes.
The reservation's element of randomness might lead to an upgrade for the guest to a Bordeaux Calais Suite, which offers 860 square feet compared to the 390 square feet of Paris' standard room. A room in Bordeaux Calais for the same three nights typically costs $437 per night.
Based on the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority’s 2024 Visitor Profile, almost 80% of visitors engaged in gambling at some moment during their visit last year. Given that Las Vegas is best known for its casinos, it seems logical for a resort to initiate the games of chance even before the guest arrives by offering the room draw option.
Casino.org contacted several public relations and communications team members at Caesars Entertainment to obtain more details about the Paris “Luck of the Draw” promotion. We are curious whether Caesars could extend the promotion to additional Strip resorts. At present, only Paris offers this type of room reservation option. Caesars did not reply to our inquiries for comments.
Paris Las Vegas features 3,670 accommodations including hotel rooms and suites. It provides the highest number of accommodations of any Caesars property on the Strip, except for Caesars Palace, with 3,980 rooms. The Flamingo is the sole Caesars Strip resort that has over 3,000 rooms.
In 2024, Caesars' casinos in Las Vegas announced a hotel occupancy rate of 97.5%, as room sales produced over $1.4 billion in revenue. Caesars factors in complimentary and reduced-rate rooms when calculating its hotel occupancy.
In its financial statements and annual report, Caesars does not provide a detailed breakdown of room occupancy by individual property but combines its Strip casinos into a category referred to as the "Las Vegas Segment."
Paris has not always been Caesars Entertainment’s second-largest casino hotel on the Las Vegas Strip.
Upon its opening on September 1, 1999, Paris boasted fewer than 3,000 hotel accommodations. It grew to its present capacity of 3,670 rooms following Caesars' rebranding of Bally’s Las Vegas to Horseshoe, along with the renovation and rebranding of the Bally’s Jubilee Tower to the Versailles Tower, which was incorporated into Paris.
Paris has traditionally aimed at the middle-class market. Although other casino resorts that opened around the same period, such as The Venetian Resort and Bellagio, targeted wealthier clientele, Paris has stayed budget-friendly in contrast to the Strip's more luxurious venues.
