Law enforcement has nabbed a serial thief who they claim held up at least two tribal casinos.

Police in Washington State were looking for a man who attempted to rob the Little Creek Casino Resort in Shelton last Saturday morning, according to a post from Casino.org earlier this week.

The idea that the individual shown in the security footage of the casino might be the same person who broke into the Silver Reef Casino a week prior was first reported by Casino.org.  According to police, a man has been taken into custody in relation to the two robberies at tribal casinos.  He is also suspected of committing other robberies.

A collaborative investigation with the Lewis County Narcotics Task Force, Thurston County Narcotics Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Kent Police Department, and Squaxin Island Police Department resulted in the man's arrest, according to the Mason County Sheriff's Office.  His name wasn't revealed right away.

The person in arrest for the alleged robbery of the Silver Reef, located approximately three hours north of Little Creek, was not identified by the Mason County Sheriff's Office.  It only mentioned the alleged involvement of other casino thefts.

"In addition to the Little Creek Casino armed robbery, the same male is a suspect in additional casino robberies,” the Facebook post read.

Additionally, the individual is accused of stealing emergency supplies from Centralia's Riverside Fire Authority.  The individual was safely captured in Kent on Monday night, according to the police.

The suspect was originally characterized by law officials as having a "small build" and standing about 5'7".  He was between 20 and 30 years old and "possibly Hispanic," according to the advisory.

Between the robberies at Little Creek and Silver Reef, the individual changed his look.  The suspect has a long beard and tattoos all over his arms in the first surveillance photo.  The man in the Little Creek incident has subsequently shaved off his tattoos, leaving only a mustache, and is wearing sleeves to hide them.

The man in the Little Creek Casino incident was armed.  But he hurried out when the casino cage employee informed him that the register was empty.

The Silver Reef's tribal police did not disclose whether the man had a firearm or if he had stolen any money.

Robbery with a deadly weapon is a Class A felony in Washington State.  A fine of $50,000 and a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison are possible punishments.  

Even though casinos are one of the most monitored establishments, some criminals still target them because they believe the potential return outweighs the danger.  Casino robberies are rarely successful.

The Jaws of Life

Additionally, the man who is suspected of holding up the tribal casinos is suspected of taking a "jaws of life" from the Riverside Fire Authority.  Newer hydraulic emergency rescue kits that run on batteries can cost up to $40K.

According to the police, the man took a firetruck's life kit jaws.
