2025 was a successful year for Macau's casinos, and the six gaming businesses are distributing the profits to those who made it all possible.

The majority of Macau's casino concessions have announced large incentives for non-executive employees, as is typical in January after successful gaming years.

According to Galaxy Entertainment, around 97% of employees are eligible for the company's one-month discretionary incentive, which applies to all levels starting with senior manager. Melco Resorts stated that all "non-management" workers in Macau and Hong Kong would get a one-month bonus, although it did not indicate what proportion of its staff would be eligible for the extra compensation. According to MGM China, 97% of its employees in China will receive bonuses equal to their monthly salaries.

In honor of the company's 20th anniversary in the Chinese Special Administrative Region, Wynn Macau announced that it is giving out a "special allowance" equal to one month's gross income. According to Wynn, 98% of its 11,552 employees were eligible for the dividend.

SJM Resorts announced on Sunday that it would also provide non-executive staff members a one-month bonus. The only concession that has not yet announced a bonus is Sands China, but it is anticipated to do so in the days ahead.

2025 Recuperation

In the COVID-19 aftermath, Macau's gaming industry—the largest casino market in the world—had its best year to date in 2025. More than double the area of the Las Vegas Strip, the six casino operators brought in about $30.9 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR).

The $30.9 billion haul was 36% more than the $22.7 billion Macau casino income in 2023 and a 9.1% rise over 2024. 2025 was better than anticipated since the casinos were able to shift their attention from high rollers, who had mostly vanished with the elimination of VIP junket parties, to premium mass players and the general public.

High-end mass players continue to gamble hundreds of dollars on each baccarat hand, with some placing four-figure bets. Although the real high rollers who wagered thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars every hand in private junket rooms are almost extinct, the casinos claim that their increased profitability is a result of having to give premium players less benefits and bonuses.

Keep Track of Visits

The release of the visitor arrivals figures for 2025 demonstrated the shift to a broader market. Over 40 million tourists entered Macau last year, according to the Public Security Police, which is in charge of border crossings.

With an official total of 40.06 million, Macau handily surpassed its previous record of 39.41 million tourists in 2019. The number of visitors in 2025 was 14.7% higher than that of 2024, when 34.94 million entries were recorded.
